While some wedding receptions are very traditional and include the typical “wedding events” that have been commonly done for decades, or even centuries – other receptions are crafted with very few or none of the traditional activities. There is no wrong or right way when it comes to choosing the activities that will become a part of your celebration.
Here is a list to help you start thinking about which ones will work for you, and which you would prefer not to do:
- Grand Entrance
- Formal Toast
- First Dance
- Father/Daughter & Mother/Son Dance
- Cake Cutting
- Bouquet Toss
- Garter Toss
- Video Montage
- Cocktail Hour
Remember, just because something may be “traditional” or even expected, it’s your special day to create your very own memories. Let our professional Wedding Coordinators at The Castle help you design the wedding of your dreams!

Here are just a few tips to think about when planning your honeymoon:
- Pack whatever you really need in your carry-on bag so if the airline loses your luggage you can still start your honeymoon off right – Try starting with a cute bikini and some makeup!
- Who says you need to go on a beach vacation – just because everyone else is doing it, doesn’t mean you have to. Try a romantic cruise for two to Alaska.
- Definitely bring more than just flip-flops – take the time to dress up and visit a fancy restaurant as husband and wife!
- A honeymoon doesn’t have to directly follow the wedding – and more than ever they aren’t. Don’t be ashamed to wait until it fits into your schedules and your budget, it certainly won’t make it any less special!
